What Is SEO Search Engine Optimization?
What Is SEO Search Engine Optimization?

Basic SEO starts with a webmaster who really knows SEO and MORE!

So what exactly is SEO or "Search Engine Optimization?"

I have spent the last 24 years studying and following trends in SEO, studying algorithms that the popular search engines set forth like Panda algorithms and other complicated algorithms by BING and Yahoo search engines. The algorithms have affected SEO in good and bad ways.

Let me explain what I have learned about good SEO VS Bad SEO. Also, learn about webmasters and web designers and what is the difference .

To achieve the best on-page SEO, remember to follow the six steps of great SEO practices:

- Find relevant keywords with good search traffic potential.(Yes keywords do matter when it comes to SEO)

- Make sure your website is 100% mobile friendly

- Create and optimize pages for search engines and users alike.

- Make sure your website is accessible to both search bots and humans.

- Build relevant links from other high-quality websites. (This is probably the most important thing when it comes to SEO)

- Content is KING! Write unique content either yourself or with the help of a content writer

remember to follow the six steps of good basic SEO:

Now here comes the part I love the most!

Here are my Top 10 SEO Tips on how to improve your Google ranking for your website using SEO!

1. Page Titles

The title tag is used by search engines to display a range of search results, as well as appear at top of the search for Google rich snippets. These tags tell search Google and other search engines as well as users what your page is about. Google only displays 60 characters in their title tags, therefore we know that it's important to keep descriptions short, compelling and relevant!

Keywords and page topics should feature the h2 and h3 tags accordingly.

2. Keywords

The placement of keywords in your site is one of the most important SEO tactics but don't go overboard as we discussed in the 1st paragraph as "Keyword Stuffing".

The H2 tag's function is to take into account how someone would search for information on the specific keyword, it's likely to be the keyword or keywords you want to be used within your posts.

Pages? well, they are different. These are what are called "STATIC pages" BUT make sure you don’t add too many keywords, especially if they are unrelated to the article or page, as this can lead to your site being flagged as spam. Search engine spiders like panda algorithms are programmed to ignore ‘keyword-stuffing, its a big nono!.

3. ALT Tags

This is most important in SEO! Each image and video that you have on your site MUST have descriptive words added to the image EXIF Data! THIS IS SO important when it comes to SEO for images. These are known as alternative text descriptions. And YES Search engines pick this up! These descriptions in the exiaf data allow for search engines to locate your page using the keywords found in your image and video descriptions, VSEO! As well as the usual text throughout your website. Therefore increasing the opportunities your site will be found, which consequently raises its page ranking

4. Why are Sitemaps so important?

A sitemap is an XML page specifically listing and creating links to all the other major pages on your site! This allows for search spiders like Google, MSN and Yahoo to locate pages quickly, and with more relevance to your search. Therefore every page from your website is easier to find for both spiders and users alike and can be reached with significantly fewer clicks.

5.Having a Mobile Friendly Site

‘With nearly 55% of organic traffic coming from mobile devices in 2020’, Websites with a mobile-friendly interface will rank higher in Google searches due to webmaster tools offering favoritism to mobile-friendly websites. Ultimately Google and other search engines are trying to provide the best user experience for you! So really? the better the user experience is on your site, the better you will rank with the search engines and Google. Google is the #1 Search engine in the world. We like to make Google happy as we have tons of experience in Search Engine Optimization and happy to give unique content for a high Google Rank!

6. PLEASE!!!!!!! Don’t Use Macromedia Flash

Many small businesses like to run their sites using Macromedia Flash (It may look COOL)BUT! However, Google always ranks Flash sites lower than sites running on alternative platforms like this website run on WordPress!

WHY??? it's because you cannot link to an individual page in FLASH. Changing a Flash-based site to WordPress will hugely increase your search engine rankings. And we can do this for your business if you have a FLASH site!

7. Update Content Regularly

Many of my customers do not update their blogs or social media regularly!

THIS IS THE BIGGEST NONO! A HUGE NONO! I’m sure this is something you should be doing regularly but most don't do it! Even so, it’s an ABSOLUTE must!

Regularly updated content is viewed as one of the best indicators of a site’s relevancy.

Make sure to keep it fresh and unique. My recommendation is at least 3 days a week post something new. Most companies fail to do this and this is where we can help you.

8. Proper URL Structure

A URL is up there in the first things that a search engine uses in order to determine a page rank, hence why it’s vital to make them easy for spiders to search. This can be done by keeping the URLs as short as possible (which also enhances the user experience), keeping them relevant to the page’s topic and also the keywords, and by ensuring the URLs help categorize the site pages as well as the blog pages.

9. Grow Your Natural Links

This is the hard part even for an SEO Expert!

This is the MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR YOUR WEBSITE's Success in Search!

This is the key ranking factor in Google, MSN, Yahoo, and all search engines algorithm! YES! As a WEBMASTER; I Understand BRANDING! Also ORGANIC LINKS!

The number of organic links and quality inbound links (called PR or Page Rank) Google PR ranking is the position that your website is listed in Google when a user searches that phrase or keyword.

A ranking of 1 means that you are at the top. If you are number 11, that means that you are on page 2 of Google as most search results have 10 listings per page. This works because Google ranks the reliability and relevance of your site partially as a result of how many times it has been recommended by third parties. Therefore it is important to monitor how these links are growing. Our rank for this site?
